The Opportunity:

The Project Manager role at The Next Step offers a unique opportunity to lead efficient project execution and enhance client satisfaction through strategic oversight and relationship management. This position focuses on the following:

  • Leading efficient project execution: Drive project success through strategic oversight and relationship management.
  • Coordinate projects (spec-schedule-cost): Ensure deliverables align with client expectations by managing project details and adhering to established deadlines.
  • Proactive communication: Engage with clients to resolve questions or concerns and maintain clear communication.
  • Tracking project status and addressing potential issues: Monitor progress and resolve any issues to keep projects on track – course correct to meet and exceed expectations.
  • Leading client meetings: Guide discussions, foster collaboration, and identify subject matter experts (SMEs) as needed.
  • Onboarding new clients: Manage the onboarding process, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed.
  • Supporting financial tasks: Create estimates and invoices in QuickBooks, assisting with financial management as needed.
  • Collaboration with Strategic Manager: Work on forecasting, resource prioritization, and identifying growth opportunities.
  • Demonstrating a continuous improvement mindset: Drive excellence and accountability through a focus on ongoing improvement and innovation.

  • Have a strong background in manufacturing and must have experience in new product development.
  • Juggle multiple responsibilities and quickly adapt to new technologies.
  • Residence in the Twin Cities metro area. Be prepared for occasional travel as required.
  • Manage and oversee accounts while also working with the internal team to identify growth opportunities.

Required Role Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing, with roles in project management, product management, or new product development (NPD)
  • 3+ years of experience in client-facing roles within the manufacturing industry
  • Technical expertise with familiarity with project management tools (i.e., Wrike and QuickBooks)
  • Residence in the Twin Cities metro area
  • Ability to travel as required

 

Preferred Role Experience/Certifications:

  • Previous experience with the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS)
  • PMP certification

 

Required Soft Skills

 

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Multitasking and focusing on execution.
  • Proactive, independent, and highly organized with a focus on strategic alignment and client satisfaction
  • Capable of working with minimal supervision and seeking continuous improvement opportunities
