The Opportunity:

The Project Manager presents a unique opportunity to drive efficient project execution and client satisfaction through adept relationship management and strategic project oversight. The primary focus of this role is the seamless coordination of project specifications, schedules, and costs to ensure deliverables align with client expectations. By tracking project status and obtaining necessary approvals, the Project Manager ensures transparency and accountability throughout the project lifecycle. Constant communication is vital, facilitating the resolution of questions, concerns, and updates while proactively identifying and addressing potential overage issues. This role extends beyond project management to encompass leadership in client meetings, where the Project Manager leverages their expertise to guide discussions and foster collaboration. Additionally, the Project Manager plays a pivotal role in identifying and engaging subject matter experts (SMEs) as needed. Beyond project delivery, the Project Manager actively seeks out new opportunities for growth and collaboration with clients, demonstrating a continuous improvement mindset that drives excellence.

The Challenges:

The Project Manager role demands a relentless drive for excellence while facing significant challenges. Operating within a small, remote team necessitates not only autonomy but also relentless collaboration and the capacity to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously. Success hinges on unwavering tenacity and the ability to inspire action. A profound understanding of diverse business facets, particularly in manufacturing, is essential, with expertise in new product development being non-negotiable and product management being a plus.  Maneuvering through varied personalities and uncomfortable client conversations requires a delicate balance of tactfulness and assertiveness. Additionally, navigating the complexities of a small company demands the versatility to fulfill multiple roles. Add to this the mandatory residence in the Twin Cities metro area and weekly travel commitments, and the role emerges as a crucible of challenge and high expectations.

Ask Yourself:

  • Are you prepared to handle the dynamic nature of project management, including multitasking, problem-solving, and adapting to shifting priorities?
  • Do you possess strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with diverse personalities, navigate conflicts, and build consensus across teams?
  • Are you committed to continuous learning and improvement, embracing challenges as opportunities
