Production Scheduler

Brief info

What do you do in your role at The Next Step?
I’m a Production Scheduler, which means that I plan, schedule, track and allocate resources to our projects. I manage our team’s workload and make sure that they have everything they need to work efficiently. My goal is to reach all our projects’ completions while staying in schedule and maintaining high quality for our clients.

How/when did you first become interested in this type of work?
I discovered my passion for project management, and more particularly for project scheduling, when I worked for a film festival. Figuring out the “who, what, when and where” to make the festival happen was so exhilarating that I’ve decided to delve deeper into it. Then, I got the opportunity to do an MBA in Minnesota, and the rest is history.

What aspect of your job brings you the most satisfaction?
When I solve an issue and help things roll along. Sometimes solving an issue is like solving a puzzle – realizing there’s a missing piece to make the project work, then getting the right piece at the right place… Nothing else can compare!

What unusual, non-work-related skills do you possess?
I can spend hours daydreaming and not be bored for one second.

How do you like to spend your free time?
Recently I’ve been spending most of my free time ice skating. Otherwise, I go out for brunch with friends, discover Minnesota’s trails and lakes, or just stay home and play puzzles while listening to comedy podcasts.
