What do you do in your role at The Next Step?
The role I perform at The Next Step is Digital Strategist, and well known as Marketing Planner. I listen to the client's yearly KPI's and strategize on how we can help them meet those KPI's through digital and traditional marketing.
How/when did you first become interested in this type of work?
I've always loved everything that has to do with marketing. I've worked on creating content for social media and strategizing around that. As an account manager, I heard the client's frustrations and understood that there is a deeper meaning to marketing than many people would think. Those frustrations and challenges drove me to learn more about digital and marketing strategies and slowly transition to them.
What aspect of your job brings you the most satisfaction?
One of the biggest satisfactions this job position brings me is that no day is the same. With strategy, we are always learning and challenged to outperform our previous days and months. It's the uncertainty of what is next that keeps me over the edge and driving always forward.
If you have a pet, what do you most enjoy about them?
I have 2 pups. Both Golden Retrievers. The boy is named Lucca and the girl is named Babi. I enjoy the unconditional love and support they offer all humans. If you are feeling happy, they enjoy the time with you. If you are feeling sad, they are always there to cheer you up. Not to mention going on adventures with them. Watching them play at the lake or sea is one of the greatest things I’ve ever seen.
How do you like to spend your free time?
I am a full-on DIYer. If there is something for me to fix, repurpose, reuse, or make I always jump into doing it. Self-teaching myself on any new skill I might leverage both in my personal and professional life is something I enjoy.
Credentials and Certifications
I can’t say that I have a lot of degrees and certifications that further back up my position but what I can say is that I am always open to learning new things so if there is an area I need to improve on, I will challenge myself to go through the appropriate training.
